John Shumway

John Shumway graduated from BYU Law School in 2006 and practiced law at the Wyoming Attorney General's office representing the state's education agencies. In 2011, John changed careers and began working as a Director of Human Resources both in the public and private sector.
His extensive background spans executive leadership roles for the Wyoming Department of Health and the Wyoming Department of Education, where he also acted as a liaison for the Superintendent and legislative committees. During this time, John also taught Business Law for four years at Western Wyoming Community College.

John holds a professional certification as a SHRM-SCP, is a certified 360 Degree Feedback coach, speaks spanish fluently, and is scheduled to take the Wyoming state bar in February of 2027.
